Why outside?

Our program is based outside for several reasons! First of all, we live in a BEAUTIFUL place and it would be a shame not to enjoy it year round. Second of all, many of us work long hours indoors and don't spend nearly enough time outside. Exercising outside, even when it's not sunny, has been correlated with improved mood, better focus, increased creativity and mental stamina. Studies have shown that those who exercise outdoors are also more likely to stick to their routine, enjoy workouts more, and actually work harder. So in short, we workout outside because it makes us healthier and happier. 

WHAT IF IT'S RAINING? OR Really COLD?

Ah the joys of the PNW. It rains. It gets blustery. Sometimes it even snows! We workout outdoors rain or shine. But fear not. Our space is covered and protected from most of the elements; importantly, if it's raining, we stay dry. During the Fall and Winter months, it's highly recommended to dress in warm, easily removable layers. We dive right into our warm-up, especially on colder days, but the first few minutes of class can be a bit chilly. 

Our inclement weather policy is to follow Portland Public Schools. If school is cancelled because roads are too icy or snowy, then we'll cancel class. Your health and safety takes priority over burpees. 

WHAT IS A BOOTCAMP CLASS LIKE?

Bootcamp is a style of small group training that varies in workout style, time, and movement. Each class will have 15-20 minutes of warm-up, followed by 20-25 minute workouts, and will end with cool down and mobility. Most movements are completed using your own body weight, though we do supplement with our weighted sandbags (lovingly called: Fitness Sausages). We believe in working out smarter, not harder! 

WHAT IF I’M LIKE ALREADY IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE? WHAT IF I HAVEN'T WORKED OUT IN YEARS?

All fitness levels are encouraged and supported! We optimize movements for your current fitness level, past/current injuries and how you are feeling each day. Some of our members are former professional athletes and others are just diving into an exercise routine for the first time. Whatever your level, you're guaranteed a fun workout that will leave you stronger, healthier and happier. 

 

DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL Gear or EQUIPMENT?

The only thing you need for class is your strong body, an inexpensive yoga mat and a water bottle. We provide the rest! During the Fall and Winter, it is highly recommended to bring gloves and a hat, and wear layers to stay warm! 

 

It looks like memberships are minimum 3-month commitments. Do you offer shorter durations?

Did you know it takes at least 6 weeks to establish a new habit? That's why our membership packages start at 3 month commitments. We want you to be successful at creating your healthiest, strongest self.  The longer you commit, the more likely you are to create lasting health (and you'll save money too.) If you'd like to workout with us, but can't commit to 3 months, we do offer drop in classes! In special cases, we offer single month memberships. 

 

WHAT IF I NEED TO change or cancel MY MEMBERSHIP?

Life happens, we get it! Depending on the situation, we always try to work with our members. Paid in full memberships are non-refundable. If you need you can put your monthly membership on hold for up to 2 months, without charge. If you need to terminate your membership before your contract is up for any reason other than serious injury, illness or relocating, there is a 30-day notice plus 50% of remaining months in contract cancellation fee.
